A one-stop Valentine’s pop-up shop is coming to Sheffield’s Winter Garden.
Four local micro-businesses have joined forces to host a Valentine’s pop-up shop this February in the Winter Gardens. The pop up shop will have unique, handmade Valentine’s gifts for the people of Sheffield to buy for their loved ones.
Open 10am – 4pm daily from 1st – 14th February, the shop will be staffed by the owners of the businesses taking part, giving visitors the chance to meet and buy directly from the makers.
The four companies decided to collaborate after their owners met via the Sheffield Sellers on Etsy team, a local support network for designers, makers and vintage sellers who trade via Etsy.com
There will be handmade chocolates and sweet treats from Dandelion Cocoa, cocktail-inspired loose leaf tea blends from Craft Tea Company, handmade sterling silver jewellery from Maxwell Harrison Jewellery and Fizzy Pigg will be offering quirky Valentine’s cards, embroidered homewares and accessories.
Jayne Harrison, owner of Maxwell Harrison Jewellery and team leader of Sheffield Sellers on Etsy said…
“We want to show people that Valentine’s gifts don’t have to be gaudy, mass-produced items from high street chains. Each purchase supports a local, independent maker.”
There is also a treat in store for five lucky people, as the ladies will be giving away a goody bag worth £70 and four runner-up prizes.
Sorrel Botham, owner of Dandelion Cocoa, said “We’ll be drawing five names at random on Saturday, 11th February from the list of people marked as ‘going’ or ‘interested’ on our Facebook event. The only condition is that winners must collect their prize from the pop-up shop before we close our doors on Valentine’s Day.”
